I worked with, Story Screen, an arthouse movie theater to create a new identity bumper that precedes the feature presentation.
The theater already had a bumper, whose soundtrack came from an unlikely source... a DVD intro bumper from the owner's personal collection of old DVD's. Very meta. The only request from the theater's owner was to keep that soundtrack intact in the new bumper. Which also limited the total time to a locked 19 seconds. Taking inspiration from this bit of AV media history, I tried to make my bumper reminiscent of the early days of film making right up to the "pew pew" lasers of the late '80s.
