I created these animations as part of a pitch for a proposed documentary about the life and times of motorcycle racing legend, Kenny Roberts.
Mood Boards
During the exploratory phase, we settled on 3 primary color palettes, one for each phase of Kenny's life, from early childhood to his flat track racing days to his storied career as a premiere Gran Prix racer. His legendary Yamaha YZR750 road racing bike and distinctive black and yellow track suit and helmet would be the vehicles to visually tie the entire piece together. The overall flat graphic style and use of big blocks of color was a nod to classic racing posters.
