Dan Kobin, founder of AES NYC, needed a way to explain a sprawling events business with over 81,000 sq. ft. of NYC venue space, without it feeling like a brochure. The solution: Toby the intern, frantically hunting for a last-minute venue, discovering that AES had exactly what he needed all along.
Designing Toby
Toby is determined, a bit weary, and endlessly optimistic. That made him the perfect vehicle for the story. His design draws from the flat graphic language of 1950s and '60s cartoon characters, updated with a cleaner, contemporary edge.
