I was commissioned by Spectrum magazine to create a series of both conceptual and infographic illustrations for a special pull out section about the future of spacesuits, both onboard deep space craft and for surface conditions like what might be experienced on Mars.
This job really struck my sweet spot... the opportunity to create something factually accurate, topically relevant and visually pleasing.

These suits are designed to provide both a level of resistance to counter the effects of muscular atrophy in zero G but also a sense of up and down in a weightless environment. They work by employing arrays of small but powerful gyroscopes mounted all over the suit.
I was asked to envision what future spacesuits might look and how they would perform based on existing plans in development.
